UCOM Corporation was established in 2000 and began offering Fiber to the Home (FTTH), the world’s first optical fiber Internet connection service for commercial use. Afterwards, we began offering Broad-Gate 02, an Internet connection service for offices. Along with developing a wide range of services, we also serve as a “metropolitan access carrier” as we carry out business concentrated in Japan’s major cities. We provide broadband environments to users of 500,000 individual and corporate lines via our own optical fiber lines that support speeds of 5,000 kilometers.
The market for Internet connection and broadband services – which increase the speed of communication – is expanding at an astounding rate. Furthermore, the current era demands high speed and high capacity. As we work to bring broadband services into all households, we have reached a peak season for our services that feature a fusion of broadcasting and communications, as well as of fixed and mobile services.
Since ancient times, people in Japan have said that happiness consists of a balance of three factors: fuku (happiness), roku (wealth), and ju (longevity) .
